5 Products For Blonde Hair

I’ve gotten a lot of questions regarding my hair and what I do to keep it cool and icy. There are a few products that I am more than obsessed with that help me keep my hair from going brassy. The products I have chosen to share with you are my personal faves, however you do not have to stick with the exact brands, there are plenty other similar products that will do the trick.

1. Purple Shampoo: Shimmer Lights Blonde & Silver Shampoo

So, we should all know that purple and yellow are on opposite sides of the colour wheel, which means that purple cancels out yellow. This is exactly why purple shampoo is the best thing ever, it cancels out the yellow and brassy tones in your hair and leaves it cool and icy. I personally use purple shampoo every time I wash my hair but, I also only wash my hair 1-2 times a week. For those of you who wash your hair every or every-other day I would recommend using purple shampoo only every second or third time you wash your hair. If I feel my hair is extra yellow or brassy I will leave the shampoo on for 20-30min.
2. Deep Conditioner: WELLA LUXEOIL Keratin Restore or Coconut Oil

Bleaching my hair really takes a toll and leaves it dry and broken. I like to rotate between these two products to restore moisture and shine. When I use either one of these products I will let it sit in my hair anywhere from an hour to overnight.

3. Dry Shampoo: Dove Refresh + Care Invigorating Dry Shampoo

Because my hair is dried from bleaching it, I try not to wash my hair very often to maintain it’s natural oils for moisture. In between washes I will use dry shampoo to keep it looking fresh. This brand is my fave cause it’s light weight and smells like pure bliss.

4. Moisturizing Serum/ Oil or Cream: V05 Conditioning Cream

I find having an oil or serum handy helps keep my hair looking shiny while keeping my fly always and split ends to a minimum. I have used this specific product for as long as I can remember, it is something I could not live without. I have to admit it doesn’t smell very nice, but once you get past that, it is the best thing ever. An added bonus of this product is that it’s purple, so it again helps fight against brass, plus it’s only like $8 at London Drugs. I will run some of this through my damp hair before I blow dry or through my hair after I have styled it, or anytime it’s looking a bit dry.

5. Heat Protector: KEVIN MURPHY Damage Manager

Bleaching your hair blonde has already caused enough damage, the last thing you need is more damage from your heated styling tools. I like to spray this product in my hair before blow drying and before styling.

  1. great post. I have been on the hunt for dry shampoo to use about the 2 or 3 day. My hair is great at staying a few days unwashed and its easier for me to style it a bit dirty. However, I need a good dry shampoo. I see you posted a few, which one do you most recommend?
