I’m going to start by saying that I am the worst when it comes to taking my vitamins and it drives Alan nuts! Lately I have gotten much better and I take a handful daily, I’m very proud of myself. This is going to sound shallow, but the one thing that got me hooked on taking them is knowing that they have so many beauty benefits. Doesn’t everyone just wanna look like a glowing supermodel all day, everyday? These are some of the vitamins I take daily and my fave beauty supplements.
one // Omega 3 Fish Oil
This is going to be my number one pick because it is most important. Not only is fish oil great for hair (makes it shiny & stronger) and your skin (fatty acids reduce dryness) but its great for your joints and over all health. I definitely recommend that everyone takes fish oil on a daily basis.
two // Silica
I have used silica since high school and that’s saying something. Silica can be found in horse hair and also bamboo extract, which is the richest known source. Silica has a restorative effect on the body and helps promote the growth of thick, strong, healthy hair. It also helps to build healthy teeth and bones as well as prevent fine lines and wrinkles. Give me one reason not to be taking this.
three // Biotin (Vitamin B7)
Biotin is probably one of the most common beauty supplements. Biotin Vitamin B7 is a nutrient that helps maintain healthy hair, nails and skin. Biotin also helps support your metabolism and lower cholesterol. I wasn’t originally taking this when I decided to write this post but as I was writing this portion I literally sent Alan a message asking him to pick me up a bottle and now I’m taking it daily.
four // Collegian
I’ve just started taking this so I can’t give you a complete review, but so far its going well. I have noticed small changes in my overall skin and complexion, it could be from the other supplements I have been taking, but I have a strong feeling it is this. Collegian can help reduce wrinkles and improve skin conditions. It’s also helps improve the strength of your hair, nails and joints. I am hoping this will help with my acne scars as well as reduce/ prevent any fine lines that I have/ will have.
five // Multi Vitamin
Having a good multi vitamin is a good idea for your overall health and without these key vitamins the other supplements I have listed above are pointless. A beauty benefit of a good multi vitamin is that it has anti oxidants that kickstart the healing of damaged skin while preventing scars from becoming permanent. I have used the same multi vitamin for years and I have no complaints, it is the GNC Ultra Mega Energy & Metabolism.
A few other vitamins I like taking include Turmeric, Vitamin D, Vitamin C and Iron. I purchase all my supplements from GNC, not only because my husband works for the company, but because I truly believe the quality of their products is superior to other supplement companies.
