Our First Year of Marriage

ONE YEAR? Already? It’s been one amazing year filled with love, family and adventure. When I look back at our first year of marriage, the one word that comes to mind is ‘fun’. All the amazing experiences we shared together add to be one of the most extraordinary years of my life. I’m beyond excited for the adventures that lay ahead. Here is a small look back at our first year as hubby and wife.

Friday, October seventh we had a small gathering of only 40 people at one of our favourite spots in Vancouver, Stanley Park. Stanley Park is nestled in the heart of downtown, and I couldn’t imagine a more suitable place to celebrate our commitment than in the very spot our relationship grew. I know everyone says this about their own wedding, but it really was the most perfect night.

Our First Apartment
Monday, January sixteenth we bought our first apartment. This was not a fun process, very stressful if you must know, but it was worth it. We had to move out of downtown and we are falling more in love with our new neighbourhood every day. It is very exciting being first-time homeowners and to be able to share that with each other is something very special.

Our Travels
In the past year, we have done a fair bit of travelling together. California, Victoria, Iraq, London and California again. It was very nice to go back to the hubby’s home and meet all his family and friends. Travelling to new countries and exploring different cultures is something extraordinary. We have so many places to visit on our bucket list, who knows where we’ll end up next!
